Amae Health is a Series B venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation delivering specialty outpatient care for people with severe mental illness through high-acuity, in-person clinics nationwide. The company partners with leading health systems including NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, Mass General Brigham, Novant Health, and CommonSpirit to expand access to integrated care that brings together psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community support. Alongside care delivery, Amae is building proprietary clinical protocols, novel measurement science, and an AI-driven data platform designed specifically for severe mental illness. As a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist, you will be a key member of the interdisciplinary clinic team at the Los Angeles Westwood location, helping members build skills and confidence to live more independent, connected, and meaningful lives. You will lead psychosocial rehabilitation and life-skills groups, teaching independent living and illness self-management skills to adults with serious mental illness. You'll support members' community integration and vocational readiness by connecting them to opportunities and resources that promote long-term wellness. You will partner closely with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and peer support staff in treatment planning and coordinating member care. You'll provide updates to referring providers on member progress, drive member engagement through outreach to unengaged members, and help reintegrate them with their care plans. Documentation will be completed in a Medi-Cal and Joint Commission compliant manner. This is a hands-on, member-facing role ideal for someone passionate about recovery-oriented care. You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team where clinicians, operators, technologists, and scientists collaborate cross-functionally. The psychiatrist informs the product roadmap; engineers understand clinical complexity; researchers sit alongside clinic operators. Every function exists to serve one goal: better outcomes for the people served. Amae is building a national care model designed for the highest-acuity patients in behavioral health, precision medicine for severe mental illness using multimodal data to personalize treatment, a clinical operating system integrating longitudinal data and real-time patient signals, new science and measurement frameworks for outcomes in severe mental illness, and a health-system partnership model proving coordinated care can work at scale. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or related field (Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Sociology, Human Services, etc.) - 4+ years of behavioral health experience, or equivalent experience consistent with California's MHRS qualification pathways under Title 9 (up to two years of graduate professional education may count toward the experience requirement) - Experience facilitating groups - Experience working with adults with serious mental illness, such as psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder), bipolar disorder, severe depression, or co-occurring substance use disorders PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience in community mental health, ACT/FSP, PHP/IOP, residential treatment, inpatient psychiatry, or crisis programs - Training in Motivational Interviewing and trauma-informed care - Strong interdisciplinary teamwork and documentation skills - Ability to document services in a Joint Commission compliant manner
