Wayspring is seeking a Member Outreach Specialist to conduct telephonic outreach to individuals who may benefit from addiction treatment and substance use disorder (SUD) services. In this full-time, remote role, you will be the first point of contact for eligible members, initiating conversations that can be life-changing. You'll educate potential members about Wayspring's services available through their Medicaid health plan, build rapport using active listening and motivational interviewing techniques, and identify members' needs around substance use disorder, housing, medical, and mental health support.
Key responsibilities include conducting outreach calls using Wayspring's Care Management Platform (Pathways), establishing initial contact and baseline relationships with members, securing verbal and written consent for services, completing documentation according to company and regulatory guidelines, and facilitating warm handoffs to Wayspring's Central Engagement Specialists. You'll collaborate internally with Member Operations, Clinical Operations, and Market Operations teams to ensure holistic support. The role requires maintaining performance accountability around member enrollment and enrollment goals as an individual contributor. You'll also provide rotating after-hours and on-call support approximately 1-2 weeks per year and may travel for onsite training and company events (roughly 5% annually).

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an outreach role, with preferred experience in telephonic outreach
- Previous experience with document management systems (CRM or Electronic Health Management System)
- Comfort having difficult and direct conversations around substance use disorder
- Proven track record of effective verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel as business needs require for onsite training and company events (approximately 5% annually)
