Monk is an AI-native accounts receivable platform automating billing, collections, and payments for B2B companies. As the company's first dedicated data hire, you will own the complete data platform end-to-end: ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving. Your core responsibility is building the data infrastructure that transforms messy customer financial data into a reliable single source of truth for AI agents and customer visibility. You will design and architect Monk's data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and reconcile financial data across every customer environment. Data correctness is non-negotiable in this role—you will set the quality bar, establish best-in-class monitoring and validation, and build alerting systems that catch issues before they impact customers. You will also build customer-facing data products that provide visibility into AR health, agent behavior, and cash flow. The role requires deep expertise in production data systems, particularly Postgres and SQL, with hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and event-driven processing. You should be comfortable with modern cloud infrastructure (Supabase, AWS, Vercel, or equivalent) and have a track record of scaling data layers through real growth at venture-backed startups. You are an owner who doesn't just report problems but fixes them and prevents recurrence. You will work in-person in Flatiron, NYC with experienced founders who have real traction and happy customers. The role offers competitive salary, meaningful equity, and the opportunity to see your work's impact in production immediately. You'll work with motivated teammates who ship fast and maintain a high bar for quality.
