Finch is building infrastructure to make legal services radically more accessible, starting with personal injury law. The company automates administrative work in pre-litigation workflows—intake, claim opening, medical records, lien management, and demands—while keeping humans in the lead on every case. Backed by Sequoia and Redpoint, Finch has grown 10x in just over a year and raised a $20M Series A.
As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll own critical features end-to-end in a full-stack role where your decisions matter from day one. You'll build reliable, performant systems across core workflows using Python/Django, React, and AWS. The scope includes shipping AI-powered functionality that transforms legal complexity into clear, usable software for law firms, and collaborating directly with product, ops, and design to define what gets built and why.
You'll help shape the technical culture, standards, and practices while the team is still small enough for individual contributions to have outsized impact. This is a role for engineers who want ownership over outcomes and thrive in fast-moving, evolving codebases.
Requirements: 3+ years building reliable, secure software in production; full-stack experience across frontend and backend; proficiency in Python and React (or demonstrated ability to pick up new stacks quickly); track record of writing clean, testable, maintainable code.
Nice-to-haves: Django, AWS, or OpenAI API experience; early-stage startup background where you helped set engineering standards; familiarity with legal tech, document processing, or data-heavy workflows.
The role is 4 days/week in the NYC office (hybrid, not remote-first). Benefits include 100% health/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), in-office meals, and flexible PTO.
