Adyen is building a top-tier AI engineering team in San Francisco to drive innovation using AI across the entire company. As a Member of Technical Staff, you will operate with high autonomy and responsibility, delivering strategic, high-impact outcomes that bridge cutting-edge AI research and production-grade applications in financial technology.
You will innovate and deploy Adyen's AI strategy, focusing on practical applications of Generative AI and other AI methodologies in finance. Key areas include AI agents for data analysis and operational workflows, human-in-the-loop systems for integrity risk management, and development of foundation models. You'll contribute to initiatives like the Data Agent Benchmark for Multi-step Reasoning (DABStep), which evaluates AI agents on real-world financial data analysis tasks.
You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI research and production by implementing research papers into robust, scalable, production-ready code. You'll reduce complexity and dependencies across teams by championing engineering and scientific alignment while setting high quality standards.
You will contribute to defining the long-term vision for AI at Adyen, specifically how AI will interact with humans and finance across consumers, merchants, and financial institutions. This includes understanding regulation and advocating for safe innovation.
You will drive innovation by challenging the status quo, introducing transformative ideas, and implementing creative solutions to real-world problems. You'll carry out flexible, value-driven assignments and proactively unblock teams to maximize organizational impact.
You will provide mentorship and horizontal sponsorship across the organization, fostering collaboration to share knowledge and best practices. You'll engage teams in problem-solving and guide them through execution, fostering growth through hands-on involvement.
You will actively pair with other engineering teams to solve deep technical challenges and be fully hands-on with code, whether creating proof-of-concepts or fixing critical performance issues. You'll connect with the broader AI community, including startups, VCs, and AI labs, to stay informed of latest advancements and identify partnership opportunities.
