Poolside is building AI systems to accelerate software development and advance toward AGI. You'll join the Model Factory team as a senior data and analytics engineer, designing and operating the foundational systems that power model research and experimentation.
Your core mission is to deliver reliable, performant, and intuitive data and analytics tools that accelerate model research. You'll own the entire data lifecycle of experiment data—from modeling and ingestion through retrieval, querying, analysis, and retention. This includes building systems like the agent trajectory store, experiment configuration registry, and experiment metrics platforms.
You'll work closely with researchers to understand their workflows and ensure systems are guided by real data and analytics needs. The work spans both greenfield projects and scaling existing systems to support larger scale, higher reliability, and more demanding performance requirements.
Required experience includes strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar languages; proven track record building and operating distributed systems at scale with deep understanding of consistency models, queue/stream processing, and data pipelines; and production experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and observability systems. You should be comfortable leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives and building alignment across teams.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with OLAP databases, timeseries databases, high-cardinality datasets, and understanding of ML research workflows.
