Johnson & Johnson is hiring a Medical Education Manager for Shockwave Medical, a fully remote position based anywhere in the US. Shockwave Medical develops Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) technology to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease, establishing a new standard of care for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease treatment through proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves.
This is a high-visibility, customer-facing role within the Medical Affairs Group, reporting to the Director of Medical Education. The position carries global responsibility across all lines of therapy and focuses on developing and executing medical education and physician relations activities for healthcare professionals in interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and allied healthcare.
Key responsibilities include: developing, planning, and executing Shockwave Medical-managed HCP (healthcare professional) programs; identifying educational needs and creating programs that meet customer and business objectives; developing and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across therapeutic disciplines; managing event execution, speaker contracting, compliance standards, and curriculum approval; designing educational objectives and curricula for both CME and non-CME accredited content; overseeing symposia execution (virtual or at-conference) with agenda design and physician speaker coaching; facilitating course curriculum and presentation materials development; contributing to speaker bureau operations and maintenance; coordinating with meeting planners on logistical execution; consulting with field organization to uncover HCP learning needs and develop solutions; partnering with medical societies and fellowship programs; maintaining current knowledge of therapies, scientific literature, and products; developing and maintaining annual budgets; and contributing to the annual Needs Assessment Process while maintaining compliance and reporting standards.
The role requires managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with up to 40% travel. This is a people-management position overseeing the execution of educational initiatives and physician engagement strategies.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field (advanced degree preferred); 6+ years of experience in education, training, sales, or marketing in the med-tech space; prior experience in the cardiovascular space highly preferred; highly organized with strong project management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy; ability to work in fast-paced environments managing multiple priorities; excellent critical thinking, influencing, and negotiation skills; ability to operate in cross-functional teams and independently with adaptability to changing requirements; demonstrated decision-making ability and responsibility; effective written, verbal, and presentation skills at all management levels; demonstrated PowerPoint proficiency; prior experience with CVENT and/or Salesforce is a plus.
