Toptal, a global network of top talent with $200+ million in annual revenue and a fully remote workforce, is seeking a Marketing Analyst to build and own the marketing data infrastructure supporting new businesses and M&A acquisitions. This role sits within the Business Analytics Center of Excellence and focuses on translating paid advertising performance into actionable metrics (LTV, ROAS, CAC) that inform budget allocation and channel strategy. You will own the complete data pipeline from ad impression through revenue, structuring underlying data infrastructure and developing reports that drive data-informed decisions for marketing and business leaders. The role requires defining metrics that matter, measuring channel and campaign performance across businesses, building forecasting models, running experiments, and performing diagnostic analysis. Success means delivering insights that drive real business impact—understanding each business's processes, objectives, and performance drivers, then connecting paid acquisition data to marketing strategy and financial outcomes. Key responsibilities include: analyzing data and building models to test hypotheses and forecast performance; building and maintaining marketing data infrastructure (Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other paid platforms); rapidly assessing and integrating marketing data from newly acquired companies; measuring and diagnosing paid advertising performance across channels; defining consistent metric definitions (LTV, ROAS, payback) across businesses; partnering with Business Analysts to connect marketing performance to revenue and unit economics; mapping marketing processes to data flows; identifying efficiency and revenue opportunities; and leveraging generative AI tools to accelerate analysis. In the first week, you'll onboard and shadow key teams. By month one, you'll understand the marketing data landscape and current state of tracking and reporting. Within three months, you'll deliver initial marketing data infrastructure and ROAS/LTV reporting for new businesses. By six months, you'll solve real business problems and help standardize metrics across acquisitions. Within a year, you'll inform strategic initiatives and budget allocation decisions. This is a fully remote position with no visa sponsorship. Communication and resumes must be submitted in English. You must be a world-class individual contributor—this role is not about directing others but driving impact through technical excellence and business acumen. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required - 3+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics, or business intelligence with focus on marketing analytics - Demonstrated experience analyzing paid advertising performance (Google Ads, other paid media) and translating to LTV, CAC, ROAS metrics - Demonstrated experience building or owning marketing data infrastructure (tracking, attribution, data pipelines, reporting) - Strong background in math, science, finance, engineering, or statistics combined with deep business insight; advanced degrees/MBA a plus - Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.) - Proficiency in SQL; R, Python, or MATLAB experience a plus - Hands-on experience with generative AI tools (Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) for analysis and automation - Experience with exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, root cause analysis, forecasting, predictive modeling, and metric definition - Track record linking data and analytics to marketing strategy, financial performance, and operations - Working knowledge of probability and statistics; process improvement experience a plus - Startup, early-stage, or M&A integration experience a plus - Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and balance competing priorities in fast-moving environments - Ability to explain complex issues simply and challenge assumptions - Strong technical background in marketing data infrastructure and Google products (Google Analytics, Google Ads) - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
