Picnic is reinventing the workplace lunch experience by partnering with top local restaurants and batching orders to deliver high-quality, individually packed meals to companies without fees or tips. As Market Manager for Washington, D.C., you will own growth across new business acquisition and account expansion. This hybrid role bridges Picnic's central teams and on-the-ground market reality, requiring you to close new accounts, prospect leads, drive expansion within existing customers, visit locations to increase order volume, and run local marketing events. Key responsibilities include: **New Business & Closing**: Map and prioritize office opportunities across D.C., own deals from discovery through close and onboarding, work with SDRs on territory prioritization, and run a consultative sales process tailored to each company's needs. **Account Expansion**: Visit existing Picnic locations to understand the on-the-ground experience, identify and drive expansion within existing accounts (additional offices, dining slots, employee participation), partner with the National Accounts team to share field observations, and turn happy customers into referral sources. **Restaurant Intelligence**: Partner with the central restaurant team on cuisine selection for your market, bring back local demand signals about which cuisines are underrepresented, and identify what works operationally given D.C.'s building types. **Local Marketing & Community**: Plan and run grassroots marketing including flyering, pop-ups, office samplings, POC happy hours, and admin appreciation events. Build a robust Picnic community across social channels and in-person activations. Capture competitor moves and employee behavior insights. You will serve as the field intelligence layer that makes central teams smarter—knowing which buildings are worth targeting, what the pickup experience feels like at noon in a 40-story tower, and which cuisines will work given local office types. Required: 2+ years in growth, sales, business development, partnerships, or account expansion; bachelor's degree from a top university; proven ability to run deals from first meeting through close; strong relationship-building skills; comfort with executives, building managers, office admins, and community leaders; strong organizational skills managing pipelines, field visits, and activations simultaneously; comfort with data (Google Sheets, dashboards, funnel metrics). Nice to have: early-stage startup experience, background in food/hospitality/real estate, SDR management experience, event planning or grassroots marketing background, CRM or operations platform familiarity.
