Xona Space Systems is a navigational intelligence company developing Pulsar, an advanced PNT (positioning, navigation, and timing) satellite infrastructure in Low Earth Orbit. The company is building a future-proof global positioning system optimized for precision, power efficiency, and robustness. The Manufacturing Engineer will join Xona's Manufacturing team, which is responsible for developing and implementing processes to manufacture, assemble, test, and integrate the mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware for satellites. This is a hands-on role focused on translating product designs into robust, repeatable, and efficient manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include: - Support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities throughout product development cycles - Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, equipment specifications, and inspection requirements - Lead new product introduction, production ramp-up, First Article Inspection (FAI), and process qualification activities - Verify that processes meet engineering, quality, and production requirements - Design and develop test fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and manufacturing tooling - Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions and continuous improvements - Partner cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, technicians, and external suppliers - Support equipment selection and transition of new processes into production - Maintain configuration-controlled manufacturing and validation documentation The role requires close collaboration with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production teams, and external suppliers to develop manufacturing processes from early prototypes through full production. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field - Hands-on experience with precision manufacturing or mechanical/electromechanical assemblies - Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills - Preferred: Experience with FAI, process capability analysis, NPI (new product introduction), Lean Manufacturing, or regulated industries - Preferred: Familiarity with CNC machining, precision assembly, ERP/MES/PLM systems, cleanroom or ESD environments - Must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR
