Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Sentry Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. This role focuses on executing key tasks within the manufacturing value chain for Sentry Tower Systems, advanced electromechanical hardware powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for military command and control. You will support the transition of new electromechanical products from New Product Introduction (NPI) to production, contributing to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) efforts. You'll assist in establishing robust manufacturing processes to meet production demands and provide continuous improvement support to existing production lines, helping resolve issues, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing efficient manufacturing processes to maximize throughput and ensure consistent high-quality output; participating in projects for installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing systems and equipment; identifying and implementing automation solutions to streamline processes; developing detailed manufacturing process flows and breaking down assemblies into logical subassemblies; creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including work instructions, SOPs, and quality control plans; partnering with contract manufacturers across diverse disciplines (PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, final assembly); and traveling to key suppliers to support production issue resolution and quality audits. You will provide DFM/DFA feedback to engineering teams to optimize product design for production efficiency, cost, quality, and reliability; support technical ownership for assigned product lines by collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production Operations, Software, and Program Management; and maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data including Bill of Material (BOM) management and configuration control in systems like Teamcenter. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong desire to learn and contribute to complex electromechanical hardware challenges, thriving in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment with hands-on implementation skills.
