Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with ownership spanning the entire manufacturing value chain.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for electro-mechanical assemblies, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T). Key responsibilities include driving process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events; collaborating with Product Quality Engineering on root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns; partnering with Design Engineering teams across development phases to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFx) guidance; developing process flows and breaking down complex assemblies into logical sub-processes; writing manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements; working with contract manufacturers (PCBA fab, harnesses, electrical components, antennas, radios) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production; and contributing hands-on to prototype hardware development alongside technicians and engineers.
You will also contribute to end-customer hardware design, including mechanical and electrical aspects such as interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection. The role requires a technical degree (engineering, math, or hard science preferred) and 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware. You must demonstrate the ability to creatively and effectively deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments. Required skills include experience with harness or PCBA design review, personal hands-on manufacturing experience (soldering, SMT, harnessing, box assembly), and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP). A genuine interest in manufacturing and a strong learning mindset are essential. U.S. Person status is required due to access to U.S. export-controlled information and facilities.
Preferred qualifications include experience with RF products requiring system AI&T, exposure to scaling product testing and production, hands-on experience with software/firmware flashing or end-of-line testing, software scripting experience, and an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
