Infinity Constellation is building independent, high-margin business units powered by AI. The company pairs credentialed practitioners with an AI backbone that automates analytical labor, enabling small teams to serve far more clients than traditional firms.
You will found and lead Infinity's Pension & Retirement Plan Actuarial business unit. As Managing Director, you are the credentialed actuary whose sign-off stands behind all work, and the business leader who builds the client base and defines the service offering. You will build a practice that carries significantly more plans per person than traditional actuarial shops, with Infinity's platform handling data processing, calculations, and administrative work.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the business unit end-to-end: strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance
- Provide actuarial sign-off on funding valuations and related regulatory work
- Originate and grow the client base through your credibility and existing relationships
- Define the service offering scope (pure actuarial consulting vs. bundled services)
- Identify which work streams (data prep, reporting, form completion) should move to AI-driven workflows first
- Validate Infinity's calculation engine against third-party actuarial software
- Hire and develop analysts and support staff, keeping the team deliberately lean
- Collaborate with other business unit leaders on cross-selling opportunities
Pension and retirement plan actuarial work covers funding valuations, accounting disclosures, and regulatory reporting for employer-sponsored plans. The work is regulatory and recurring—plans require annual valuations and filings regardless of economic conditions. The market includes large integrated providers and boutique regional firms ($10-30M revenue). Much of the underlying analysis is currently performed by non-credentialed analysts; Infinity's AI is built to automate this analytical labor while you retain credentialed judgment and sign-off authority.
This is an entrepreneurial role with real upside. You shape the service offering, team structure, and tooling roadmap, and share directly in the value created.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Credential: Enrolled Actuary or actuarial team lead holding credentials required to sign funding valuations
- Deep experience with funding valuations, accounting disclosures, and regulatory reporting for employer-sponsored plans
- Portable book of business: existing client relationships that will follow you, or credibility to build a client base quickly
- Senior practitioner or already independent: either a senior non-partner deep in delivering the service and ready to build a practice with real upside, or a practitioner who has gone independent and wants to be super-powered by Infinity's backbone, tooling, and capital
- Point of view on automation: clear perspective on where AI-driven workflows can replace analyst labor and how to validate results
- Entrepreneurial mindset: energized by rebuilding the firm itself rather than building software to sell to existing firms
- Location: based in the United States (business units currently serve US clients only)
