The company's vision is to enable cross-chain developers to build dApps unconstrained by individual blockchain capabilities through a simple, generic messaging protocol.
As Manager of Site Reliability Engineering, you will lead a team of SREs responsible for the reliability, performance, and scalability of LayerZero's blockchain node infrastructure and platform services. This is a hybrid technical and people leadership role where you'll balance hands-on technical judgment with team development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing an SRE team, setting technical direction, growth plans, and performance expectations
- Owning the reliability strategy for blockchain node infrastructure across multiple distributed ledger technologies, including SLOs, capacity planning, and incident response
- Partnering with Engineering leadership and Product/Platform teams to align reliability investments with business priorities
- Driving infrastructure-as-code practices, focusing on Kubernetes and Helm at scale
- Establishing and improving on-call structures, incident detection/triage automation, and postmortem culture
- Staying hands-on by reviewing designs, investigating complex incidents, and setting technical standards
You bring 6+ years of SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering experience, with 2+ years directly managing or leading a technical team. You have deep familiarity with blockchain node infrastructure (validators, full nodes, archive nodes, RPC optimization), strong proficiency in TypeScript or Golang, and advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux internals and distributed systems. You have 3+ years running Kubernetes in production, including Helm chart authoring at scale, and a track record building or scaling on-call and incident response processes. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is required.
