Nearmap is seeking a Sales Development Manager to lead the Australian BDR (Business Development Representative) team. This role combines hands-on coaching with strategic pipeline ownership, requiring someone with a proven track record as an individual contributor in BDR/SDR functions who has developed a passion for developing others.
Key responsibilities include:
Coaching and Development: Spend meaningful time reviewing calls, identifying patterns, and conducting structured training sessions to continuously sharpen team skills. Provide real-time feedback during calls and one-on-ones to drive rep growth and career progression.
Setting Standards: Establish and enforce fundamentals across prospecting discipline, CRM hygiene, call structure, and pipeline handoff processes. Ensure reps have the tools, leads, and processes needed to be effective.
Pipeline Ownership: Work closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to define target accounts, build and refine outreach cadences, and own the team's combined monthly quota. Drive revenue-generating activity and ensure quality meeting handoffs to Account Executives.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the key liaison between the BDR team and Account Executive organization, managing expectations on both sides and protecting team focus on revenue activities.
Career Growth: Measure success not just by pipeline numbers but by developing reps into full-cycle AE roles. Build a culture where team members advance their careers.
Operational Management: Handle day-to-day team rhythms including attendance, scheduling, reporting, and accountability.
Required qualifications: 2+ years in BDR/SDR role, 2+ years in lead/supervisory/direct management experience, Bachelor's degree, strong Salesforce skills, ability to coach across SMB to enterprise spectrum, formal sales methodology training (MEDDIC, SPIN, Challenger, or similar), high EQ, clear communication, and ability to manage senior stakeholder expectations.
