RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions combining hardware, software, and AI. The company is scaling rapidly with $160M in funding and 200+ employees globally, operating in Europe and the US. As Manager of Robotic Sales Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately six Robotic Sales Engineers (RSEs) reporting to the Head of Robotic Sales Engineering. RSEs are RobCo's technical interface with customers—they qualify opportunities, run requirement workshops, assess feasibility, and drive deals toward Solutions Development. Your responsibilities include: - Team Leadership & Development: Hire, onboard, and coach RSEs. Conduct regular 1:1s, provide direct feedback, write performance reviews, and build career paths for team members. - Quota Ownership: Own your team's sales quota jointly with Sales counterparts. Monitor pipeline and win rates, identify at-risk deals early, and allocate team capacity strategically. - Deal Portfolio Management: Match RSEs to Account Executives and opportunities, balance workload, and coordinate with Sales and Delivery to ensure smooth customer experiences and deal progression. - Quality Standards: Set and enforce standards for discovery, requirement workshops, feasibility assessments, and handovers. Review critical concepts before customer or Solutions Development delivery. - Hands-On Engagement: Participate in strategic accounts and complex workshops. Serve as technical escalation for customers and Account Executives. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales leadership, Solutions Development, and Product teams to ensure clean handovers and aligned expectations. Translate field insights into product input. - Process Improvement: Shape team processes, templates, tools, and KPIs to increase efficiency without adding unnecessary bureaucracy. You are a player-coach—leading the team while remaining actively involved in high-impact deals. You travel approximately 30% of the time. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years in technical pre-sales, application engineering, or automation projects - 2+ years leading a team - Proven track record running requirement workshops, closing deals, and working against quota - Credibility with both technical engineers and business decision-makers (plant managers) - Strong coaching and feedback skills; ability to know when to delegate and when to step in - Ability to set clear priorities and communicate them across Sales, Engineering, and Management - Process-oriented mindset focused on enabling speed, not creating bureaucracy - Fluent in German and English - Willingness to travel ~30% of the time - Plus: Experience with physical AI (AI-based perception, learning-based manipulation, autonomous robots) - Plus: Experience building or scaling teams in fast-growing companies - Plus: Background at a robot manufacturer or system integrator
