RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions combining hardware, software, and AI. As Manager of Robotic Sales Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately six Robotic Sales Engineers (RSEs) reporting to the Head of Robotic Sales Engineering. Your core responsibilities include: **Team Leadership & Development**: Hire, onboard, and coach RSEs. Conduct regular 1:1s, provide direct feedback, write performance reviews, and build career development paths for your team members. **Revenue Ownership**: Own your team's sales quota jointly with Sales counterparts. Track pipeline and win rates, identify at-risk deals early, and allocate team capacity strategically to drive revenue. **Deal Portfolio Management**: Match RSEs to Account Executives and opportunities, balance workload, and coordinate priorities with Sales and Delivery teams to ensure smooth customer experiences and deal progression. **Quality & Standards**: Set and enforce standards for discovery, requirement workshops, feasibility assessments, and handovers. Review critical concepts before customer or Solutions Development delivery. **Hands-On Technical Leadership**: Participate directly in strategic accounts and complex technical workshops. Serve as the technical escalation point for customers and Account Executives. **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Work closely with Sales leadership, Solutions Development, and Product teams to ensure clean handovers and aligned expectations. Translate field insights into product feedback. **Process Improvement**: Shape team processes, templates, tools, and KPIs to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Robotic Sales Engineers are RobCo's technical interface with customers. They qualify opportunities, run requirement workshops, assess feasibility, and drive deals to the Solutions Development stage. You are a player-coach—leading the team while remaining hands-on for high-impact deals. You will travel approximately 30% of the time. **Requirements** - 5+ years in technical pre-sales, application engineering, or automation projects - 2+ years leading a team - Proven track record running requirement workshops, closing deals, and working against quota - Credibility with both shop-floor engineers and plant managers making investment decisions - Strong coaching and feedback skills; ability to know when to step in and when to delegate - Ability to set clear priorities and communicate them across sales, engineering, and management - Process-oriented mindset focused on enabling speed, not bureaucracy - Willingness to travel ~30% of the time - Plus factors: experience with physical AI (perception, learning-based manipulation, autonomous robots); experience building or scaling teams in fast-growing companies; background at a robot manufacturer or system integrator
