Kraken, a leading cryptocurrency and digital assets platform founded in 2011, is seeking a Manager of Policy & Government Relations to lead its APAC expansion strategy. You will be a key member of Kraken's global policy team (with offices in Brussels, London, Washington DC, and Singapore) responsible for shaping financial services and web3/digital policy positions across Asia-Pacific.
In this role, you will develop and execute Kraken's policy strategy across APAC, with initial focus on Singapore and expansion to the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, and other key markets. You will engage directly with senior policymakers and regulators, including Singapore's Monetary Authority (MAS) and equivalent bodies across the region. You will monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments, advise internal stakeholders on emerging frameworks for digital assets, payments, and stablecoins, and represent Kraken in trade associations and external forums.
You will partner closely with regulatory, compliance, communications, product, and engineering teams to ensure policy positions are informed by operational realities and support business objectives. The role requires travel within the region and comfort navigating diverse regulatory cultures and political systems.
Required qualifications include 5–9 years of hands-on experience with financial services policy and regulation in APAC, gained at regulators, government bodies (such as MAS), in-house corporate roles, political consultancies, or trade associations. You must have an existing network in Singapore and ideally across the wider region, and a strong understanding of financial services and digital policy frameworks, particularly those emerging around digital assets and stablecoins.
Desirable experience includes knowledge of payments, AML, or cyber policy; experience drafting public consultation responses; exposure to Central Asian, Australian, or Middle Eastern regulatory environments; familiarity with international standard setters (IOSCO, OECD, FATF); and regional language skills.
