Pattern is a fast-growing ecommerce acceleration platform that uses proprietary technology and AI to optimize and automate growth levers for global brands across 60+ marketplaces including Amazon, Walmart, Target, eBay, and TikTok Shop. The company has been recognized by Deloitte as one of the fastest-growing tech companies in North America and by Newsweek as one of the Global Most Loved Workplaces.
You will lead and evolve Pattern's organic growth strategy across SEO, GEO (generative engine optimization), and AEO (answer engine optimization), treating these as a unified system rather than separate disciplines. You'll own how Pattern appears across traditional search and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms like AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity, while partnering with product, UI/UX, content, and web teams to optimize user experience and drive conversion through structured experimentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning Pattern's end-to-end organic strategy, unifying SEO, GEO, and AEO into one cohesive approach
- Building and evolving Pattern's presence in AI-driven answer engines and generative search experiences as those surfaces evolve
- Owning conversion optimization once organic traffic arrives, partnering with UI/UX and product teams on landing page experience and running structured A/B tests
- Coordinating cross-functional work across content, web/dev, product, brand, and paid media teams to execute a unified organic roadmap
- Building systems and reporting that move the team from one-off audits toward repeatable, data-informed processes that scale
- Using technical and data tooling—analytics platforms, SEO tools, testing tools, and AI-assisted workflows—to prioritize work and prove impact
- Reporting on performance across the full funnel and translating findings into actionable strategy for leadership
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Lehi, UT, with willingness to work remotely within the US and occasional travel as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in SEO, with hands-on exposure to how GEO, AEO, and AI search surfaces are reshaping organic discovery
- Strong understanding of technical SEO: site architecture, crawlability, core web vitals, structured data, and schema markup
- Real experience with CRO and A/B testing, including experimentation design, statistical significance, and converting results into decisions
- Working knowledge of UI/UX principles and how design decisions affect both search performance and conversion
- Comfort with data, including pulling insights from analytics tools and building or interpreting dashboards; ability to set targets and forecast organic growth
- Expertise with AI tools, both for optimizing for AI-driven search and for making your own workflow more efficient
- Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing teams you don't directly manage toward shared goals
- Systems thinking with a default instinct toward scalability rather than manual problem-solving
- Strong communication skills to translate technical search and testing concepts for leadership or generalist audiences
- Bachelor's degree required
Desirable qualifications that will make you stand out:
- Clear point of view on how SEO, GEO, and AEO converge into a single organic strategy
- Specific, measurable outcomes driven through organic and conversion work
- Experience building or managing a testing roadmap or CRO program from scratch
- Ecommerce or marketplace industry background (Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, etc.)
- Experience partnering closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ship experiments
- Strong point of view on how AI is changing organic discovery, backed by real examples
