Xcimer Energy is seeking a Manager of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Manufacturing to lead and directly manage a team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership and strategic manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and directly manage a team of engineers and technicians, including hiring, development, and performance management - Partner with program leads to deliver EI&C hardware and integrations that meet requirements and aggressive delivery targets - Lead the stand-up of a new EI&C work center, including input on manufacturing technique development and automation needs - Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input to engineering design teams and establish integration standards for cabinets, panels, harnessing, and cabling - Partner with Electrical and Pulsed Power Engineering departments to integrate standards throughout the DFM process - Serve as the technical authority on integration standards and drive standardization across EI&C assemblies - Implement part standardization, cataloging, and configuration management to reduce complexity and SKU proliferation - Lead the team toward modular harness and cabinet architectures to reduce rework during design changes This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both deep technical knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls manufacturing and the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical or Controls Engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience - 10+ years of technical work in industry - Experience leading teams in fast-paced environments with direct people management - Experience coaching and mentoring EI&C manufacturing and operations teams - Experience manufacturing and testing EI&C assemblies - Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired Experience: - Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input to designers - Standing up new work centers (tooling, automation requirements, team headcount, skillsets, work processes) - Designing or implementing scalable EI&C manufacturing processes - Cable/harness production, panel/cabinet build, functional test stations, automated continuity/hi-pot testing - Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and process standardization (Kanban, 5S, SMED, standard work, line balancing, PFMEA) Additional Technical Skills (preferred): Electrical: Industrial LOTO, 3-phase motors and VFDs, electrical ratings (NEMA, UL, FCC, IEC, IP), NFPA 70E Arc flash, stored energy safety, conduit bending, power electronics, high current and UHV linework, IBEW Journeymen or Master Electrician, circuit protection, medium voltage distribution, enclosure/panel fabrication. Instrumentation: Telecommunication/Radar servicing, data acquisition systems, equipment calibration, EMC knowledge, high-speed data networks, industrial communication protocols. Controls: PLC architecture, low voltage and control harness fabrication, industrial interconnects, FPGA families, embedded systems, equipment racking, pneumatic systems and gas handling controls.
