Salary: USD 113,000 - 149,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Manager of Material Management & Flow to optimize warehouse and material flow operations across its Morrisville, NC manufacturing facilities. This role leads a material flow engineering and warehouse team, working with a global supplier network to support advanced defense systems powered by Lattice OS.
You will design and implement innovative material management strategies using lean principles across multiple sites, collaborating with procurement, production, logistics, and quality teams. Key responsibilities include aligning material availability with production schedules, owning performance metrics and KPIs (cycle time, throughput, capacity utilization, inventory accuracy), and implementing inventory control measures including cycle counting and audits.
You will utilize ERP (Oracle) and WMS (Odoo) systems to track inventory and generate data-driven insights. The role requires proactively identifying production bottlenecks caused by inventory processes, line layouts, parts shortages, or staffing constraints, and driving resolution across Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality teams. You will develop processes to optimize workplans for variable demands, translate tools and reports into actionable warehouse tasks, and use Value Stream Mapping and Process Mapping techniques to increase accuracy of work demand for new and maturing facilities.
The position involves working across multiple programs from development to full-rate production, identifying and solving complex material movement problems in a manufacturing environment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality control protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, technical field, or supply chain management
- 5+ years of experience with 2+ years of people management in material flow engineering, inventory control, or supply chain management (preferably manufacturing/production)
- 3+ years in high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environment building complex mechanical/electrical assemblies with heavy data utilization
- Ability to read technical documentation (drawings, CAD data) and understand hardware manufacturing processes for electronics, structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems
- Up to 25% travel required
- Must be able to relocate to Morrisville if not already local; onsite presence required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong supply chain principles, inventory management, and material planning knowledge
- Experience with department/factory design, value stream mapping, flow lines, continuous flow, workstation design
- Experience owning complete value chains with measurable business improvements
- Prior MES or WMS experience
- NetSuite, Oracle, or similar ERP system knowledge
- Direct warehouse automation scoping and commissioning experience
- Lean Manufacturing implementation experience
- SQL database experience for custom production/inventory queries
- Siemens Plant Simulation or Process Simulation software experience
- Commercial and federal inventory procedures knowledge
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. TS clearance
