Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, owning the entire manufacturing value chain including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
In this role, you will lead a manufacturing engineering team overseeing a set of Anduril's products, driving process improvements, ensuring highest quality production, and supporting development and implementation of new products. You will leverage technical expertise and leadership skills to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, and drive rapid project execution. Key responsibilities include:
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Manufacturing Engineers with deep product knowledge in mechanical, electrical, system integration, and ambient/environmental testing
• Drive operational excellence with continuous improvement mindset and lead impactful Kaizen events
• Partner with Product Quality Engineering to drive and support root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns for internal and external production issues
• Define workflows with cross-functional teams for effective collaboration
• Collaborate with Design Engineering teams throughout development phases to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFx) guidance for smooth new product introduction (NPI) transitions
• Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for a product or set of products
• Develop process flows, breaking down complex assemblies into logical part flows and sub-processes
• Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, resource-limited environments and demonstrates holistic ownership of technical challenges with creative, physical, and/or digital solutions. You should have hands-on experience manufacturing or overseeing manufacturing of electromechanical hardware.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in a technical field preferred (engineering, math, or hard science)
• 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing a high-performing team
• Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments
• Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills with backing examples
• World-class mission assurance, quality, attention to detail, and dedication
• Genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
• Demonstrated ability to bring up assembly operations for electromechanical assemblies
• Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.); work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus
• Proficient with ERP, CAD, PLM, and FRACAS software
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with RF products requiring system assembly, integration, and test (AI&T)
• Hands-on experience with software and firmware flashing or end-of-line testing and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated success scaling product testing and production from tens/hundreds to hundreds/thousands
• Skills in cost analysis, cost reduction strategies, and managing production budgets
• Software scripting experience in any language
• Current active U.S. Secret security clearance
