People Data Labs is a profitable, growing data company providing workforce intelligence solutions. As Manager of IT & Security, you will lead the IT and security function for a fully remote organization, managing one direct report and partnering with cross-functional leaders. You will oversee security, compliance, tools administration, and helpdesk support. Key responsibilities include managing the IT & Security project roadmap and prioritization process for migrations, system rollouts, and security enhancements; maintaining structured, automated, and audit-ready security and compliance processes; partnering with product, engineering, and departmental stakeholders on shared security initiatives; overseeing company-wide application authentication, access management standards, and disaster recovery for critical systems; and managing vendor relationships, evaluations, contracts, and renewals to optimize tools spend. PDL is intentionally lean, believing revenue can scale without proportional headcount increases. The company values building systems and processes that make coworkers' lives easier while taking security and compliance seriously. The ideal candidate has managed IT and/or security teams in fully remote environments and understands how to balance automation with the human touch—the company is thoughtful about AI adoption and does not implement it for its own sake. REQUIREMENTS: - 3–5 years managing an IT, Security, or Technical Operations team - 3+ years working in a fully remote environment - Experience managing IT project roadmaps, vendor relationships, and enterprise system migrations or rollouts - Working knowledge of enterprise identity and access management, authentication standards, and disaster recovery planning - Strong organizational and project management skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Experience working with data via multiple delivery methods - AWS security (IAM, CloudTrail, Inspector, Organizations + SCP) - SSO + identity provider (preferably Okta) - Compliance automation (e.g., Vanta) - Basic scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) DESIRED: - Previous experience at a data company - Remote security tooling (Tailscale, SentinelOne, 1Password) - Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform) - Monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog)
