Salary: USD 127,000 - 160,550 / annual

Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers, serving 750+ payers including the top five national health plans and millions of healthcare providers. This Manager, Indirect Tax role operates with high autonomy to lead cross-functional tax projects and programs, strengthening tax compliance, reporting quality, audit readiness, and cash-flow optimization. Key responsibilities include: leading preparation and review of complex tax filings across multiple jurisdictions; translating regulatory changes into clear requirements and updating standard operating procedures; developing training materials for stakeholders; measuring adoption and impact of new processes; preparing leadership-quality analyses with ROI assessments and risk mitigation strategies; establishing preventive and detective controls for audit-ready documentation; maintaining internal tax policies and calendars; driving cross-functional collaboration on complex tax issues; and identifying automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce risk. You will bring 8+ years of experience (with Bachelor's degree) or 6+ years (with Master's degree), with solid command of U.S. federal and state tax concepts, demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives, expertise in compliance regulations and process optimization, exceptional analytical and communication skills, advanced Excel and data modeling capabilities, and ability to influence senior stakeholders. Proficiency with AI tools—including developing intelligent prompts and agents—is required. You'll present work to department members, external consultants, and professional conferences, and collaborate externally. Zelis operates a hybrid model with flexibility; in-office presence is guided by team and business needs rather than fixed schedules. Candidates within approximately 50 miles of a U.S. office are generally preferred. The company is headquartered in the U.S. with multiple locations and an office in Hyderabad, India.
