Isar Aerospace, a leader in the New Space industry, is seeking a Manager of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to design and oversee global HSE management across international locations. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, healthy, and sustainable working conditions while developing strategies, processes, and programs that protect employees and support company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Global organization and coordination of occupational health and safety, including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure HSE compliance and monitoring of legal requirements and industry standards
• Investigation of accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures
• Development, implementation, and execution of occupational health management (BGM) programs, including health promotion initiatives, psychological risk assessments, and mental health support
• Provision of training and workshops to foster a health and safety culture
• Development and execution of occupational reintegration management in compliance with legal requirements, working closely with the talent team
• Development and implementation of environmental protection programs aligned with company sustainability goals, including environmental audits, assessments, and performance reporting
• Identification of opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste and emissions
• Conduct risk assessments and analyses, developing risk mitigation strategies
• Create and implement HSE processes and policies for global application across the Isar Aerospace group
• Coordinate workflows and communication between international locations on HSE matters
• Close collaboration with ISS managers at various sites
• Budget management for HSE operations in Germany, Norway, and Sweden
• Contract and supplier management in the HSE domain
• Coordination of external service providers (fire protection, occupational health insurance, HSE consultants, waste disposal, etc.)
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes regarding HSE requirements
• Oversight of software solutions in collaboration with IT
• Ad-hoc support for corporate security initiatives
Requirements:
• Completed degree or equivalent qualification in HSE, occupational safety, health management, environmental management, or related field
• Multiple years of professional experience in Health, Safety & Environment, ideally in an international environment
• Solid knowledge of occupational, health, and environmental protection and relevant legal regulations
• Experience developing and implementing HSE, BGM, and environmental management programs
• Experience creating and implementing processes, policies, and management systems
• Knowledge of risk assessment, auditing, and compliance management
• Experience in stakeholder, supplier, and project management
• Strong communication, organizational, and assertiveness skills
• Proficient use of digital tools and software solutions
• Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work approach
