Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manager of Demand & Supply Planning to lead the Planning team's efforts in supporting the rapid iteration and production of cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, mobile ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This role is pivotal in transforming the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to drive operational excellence and enhance forecasting, planning, and execution precision.
You will manage a team of Demand & Supply Planners responsible for executing S&OP, providing in-depth analysis to business partners, and sending critical signals to Purchasing and Manufacturing regarding what and when to buy or build for each supported product line. This is a strategic hire focused on meeting and exceeding financial objectives while maintaining stringent quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute supply & demand plans aligned with sales forecasts and business strategies
- Lead the Supply & Demand planning team to ensure efficient execution of planning activities
- Collaborate across S&OP with sales, operations, and finance to gather data for accurate forecasting
- Distill and communicate complex scenarios to executives for strategic decision-making
- Manage inventory levels to meet service targets while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively address supply chain disruptions
- Optimize planning processes through continuous improvement initiatives
- Implement and maintain planning systems and tools to improve accuracy and visibility
- Define key performance metrics for Supply & Demand Planning functions
- Prepare and present regular reports on program performance, inventory metrics, and risk assessments
- Support new product launches by coordinating cross-functional teams for material readiness

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (manufacturing, engineering, analytics, computer science, etc.) or business field (finance, economics, supply chain management, business administration, marketing, etc.)
- 8+ years of experience in supply chain or production roles within fast-paced manufacturing environments with complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
- 3+ years of experience managing a direct team
- Demonstrated ability to completely own complex value chains from start to finish, coordinating between multiple internal and external parties to ensure on-time deliveries and adherence to quality standards
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or Netsuite, and CRM systems like Salesforce
- Willingness to take on substantial responsibility across supply chain, logistics, engineering, and supply planning functions with a bias towards speed and accuracy
- Strong technical expertise including ability to read technical documentation, drawings, and CAD data; understanding of hardware manufacturing processes for both electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware, etc.) and structures/mechanisms
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local; onsite presence required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree or other higher education
- Strong experience with SQL databases, including building custom queries for production and inventory metrics
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikview
- Knowledge of supply chain planning systems like Blue Yonder and best practices in demand planning, inventory management, and S&OP
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, six sigma principles, and big data evaluation techniques
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
