Blitzy is an AI software development platform transforming the enterprise software development lifecycle by autonomously building custom software. The company is backed by tier-1 investors and counts Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.
You will be the first people-leadership hire in Blitzy's Business Development function, building and leading the founding cohort of technically-fluent BDRs. Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you will own recruiting, onboarding, certification, and coaching of BDRs while partnering closely with Account Executives, Enablement, RevOps/Sales Productivity, and Recruiting.
This is a builder and player-coach role. The playbook, standards, and tooling exist in first-draft form; your job is to install them with real reps, hold the bar, and make the motion repeatable. Success is measured by high-quality pipeline conversion and a team that ramps fast and stays.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hire, train, and develop the founding BDR cohort; maintain territory coverage as the team scales
- Own onboarding and enablement; run 30-60-90 ramp curriculum, certification, and taped role-play gates; refine hiring profile with Recruiting
- Coach daily and run weekly 1:1s focused on scorecard review, one skill focus (calls, objections, messaging), and pipeline walks; document coaching notes on every opportunity
- Own the metrics funnel (activity, connect rate, meetings booked, NBM conversion, pipeline generated, attainment) and inspect routinely
- Run the accepted-NBM/quota-relief workflow against objective rubric; audit approvals for consistency
- Protect the handoff between BDRs and AEs: spot-check transitions, triage drop-off, kill bad pipeline, elevate good, rescue sliding deals
- Ensure inbound leads are actioned within SLA; keep CRM and team data accurate
- Create spiffs for special motions; run QBRs; track attainment QoQ and YoY; help leadership evaluate tools and set best practices
- Assist in career pathing BDRs into AE and other GTM roles (~16–18 months)
Qualifications:
- Experience managing or coaching SDR/BDR reps, or a top-performing rep ready to lead, with a track record of developing early-career sellers
- Ability to teach rigorous discovery motion (MEDDPICC and pain funnel); can certify reps on tape
- Comfort in technical, enterprise, high-ACV motion; can coach reps to speak credibly with engineering leaders and CTOs
- Data-driven coaching instincts (Gong, HubSpot); inspect behavior, not just activity
- Builder's mindset: help create process, hold high standard, iterate; low ego, high curiosity, championship mentality
- Preferred: prior SDR/BDR leadership at enterprise SaaS or technical platform; familiarity with modern software-development concepts
