Pearl is an AI-driven dental tech company offering FDA-cleared computer vision solutions for dental imagery used by practices, labs, and insurers globally. The company has scaled rapidly across SMB practices and enterprise DSO (Dental Service Organization) accounts, and is seeking a Manager of Billing & Accounts Receivable to build and lead the billing, AR, and collections function at scale. This is a builder role reporting to the Controller. You will own end-to-end billing and AR operations across two distinct customer segments: high-volume SMB dental practices (recurring subscription and usage-based billing) and complex Enterprise/DSO accounts (contract-driven, multi-location, tiered pricing). For SMB, you'll manage high-volume invoicing, collections workflows, DSO optimization, and billing dispute resolution. For Enterprise, you'll handle complex contract-driven billing, direct customer finance relationships, and escalation of at-risk receivables. Key responsibilities include: designing billing, AR, and collections systems and policies to support $100M+ ARR growth; evaluating and implementing billing/AR tooling and automation (NetSuite, Stripe Billing, Zuora, etc.); establishing credit policies, write-off procedures, and revenue recognition controls; building AR reporting (aging, DSO, cash forecasting, collections metrics) for board and leadership use; ensuring Sales and CS promotions/discounts are accurately reflected in billing systems; managing and growing the Billing/AR team starting with one direct report; and identifying opportunities to apply AI and automation to replace manual dunning, reconciliation, and dispute triage work. You'll partner closely with RevOps, Data, Legal, Sales, Customer Success, and the Controller. The role requires strong operational judgment, especially on Enterprise accounts with contractual complexity, and a proactive mindset about using AI tools to accelerate collections, aging analysis, and reporting. Required: 5+ years in billing, AR, or collections in a startup or high-growth environment; direct experience building AR/billing processes from scratch; experience managing both high-volume SMB and complex Enterprise billing; strong Excel and modern billing system skills (NetSuite, Stripe, Zuora, QuickBooks); excellent written/verbal communication; and a bias toward automation and AI-enabled workflows. Healthcare/dental experience is a plus.
