Salary: USD 100,600 - 125,000 / annual
Precision Medicine Group seeks a Manager of Accounting to oversee key accounting activities and lead a team in a dynamic, high-growth biotech environment. This role is central to the finance function, managing month-end close processes, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting across multiple business units.
You will partner closely with FP&A, executive leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to support budgets, forecasts, allocations, government accounting requests, and strategic business initiatives. Key responsibilities include reviewing and preparing journal entries and complex GL entries; reviewing AP spend and cash flow forecasts; managing balance sheet account reconciliations (inventory, unbilled/deferred revenue, payroll liabilities, capitalized labor, ROU assets, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, prepaids); partnering with FP&A on budget and forecast preparation; training and mentoring staff on accounting thresholds, GAAP standards, and process documentation; monitoring emerging US GAAP standards; establishing internal controls to minimize payment errors and fraud; reviewing customer contracts for revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606); preparing audit support and managing external audit relationships; and supporting strategic initiatives such as system implementations, integrations, and acquisitions.
This is a people-management role where you will develop team members, foster cross-functional relationships, and drive continuous process improvement. You'll work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor's degree with minimum concentration in accounting or finance
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong MS Office literacy (Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proven critical thinking, analytical, interpretative, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to process and analyze large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information
- Detail-oriented with ability to handle complex reporting and meet tight deadlines
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial regulations, accounting best practices, inventory accounting, and US standards
- Meaningful experience partnering with executive leadership
- Experience with government accounting requests, payroll data reconciliations, and audit support
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to build credibility with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with track record of developing teams
- Solid understanding of integrated business processes in enterprise software (ERP) environments
- Professional ethics and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information
