Salary: USD 112,000 - 149,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Maintenance Controller to oversee maintenance operations for the Fury CCA (Group 5 UAS) at a developmental flight test facility in Victorville, California. This role reports to leadership and manages all aspects of aircraft maintenance scheduling, planning, and execution to ensure mission-capable readiness in accordance with customer, Anduril, and applicable military standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules for Fury aircraft, ensuring alignment with customer and contractual requirements
- Develop, implement, and coordinate maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures in alignment with flight operations to optimize aircraft availability and minimize downtime
- Oversee maintenance logs, records, and reporting in accordance with contract requirements, including monthly status reports to stakeholders
- Manage on-site inventory of parts, tools, and supplies; liaise with suppliers and procurement to ensure material availability
- Cross-train personnel as mission coordinators, system operators, and maintainers to build a versatile, knowledgeable team
- Liaise with engineering and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot complex issues and implement corrective measures
- Review and author technical publications, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and alignment with mission requirements
- Serve as primary point of contact for customers, DCMA officials, and other stakeholders on maintenance matters
- Maintain strong safety culture through regular briefings and enforcement of all safety regulations and DCMA 8210.1D guidelines
- Chair maintenance planning meetings and provide clear communication on system statuses and completion timelines
- Participate in program reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior service technicians and mechanics
The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril conducts full system-level development testing, production acceptance testing, sub-component qualification testing, and flight operations management across all product lines. REQUIREMENTS:
- Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; OR more than 8 years of maintenance experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities, including experience managing large teams
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (browser, word processing)
- Familiarity with military maintenance protocols, DCMA instructions, and aviation industry standards
- Ability to interact effectively with military personnel and civilian contractors
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Experience with UAS maintenance functions, including servicing, repairing, preventive maintenance, and inspections for airborne and ground systems
- Able to travel as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A&P license with Inspection Authorization
- More than 15 years of maintenance experience
- 5+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of developmental test experience
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience developing and conducting technical training for maintenance personnel
- In-depth knowledge of DCMA 8210.1D regulations and military maintenance standards
