Anthropic is building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to help ambitious organizations adopt Claude in transformative, safe, and lasting ways. As Manager of Technical Deployment for Financial Services, you will own the engagement portfolio health across the Financial Services vertical, setting the bar for delivery quality and building the playbooks and evaluation frameworks that enable the practice to scale. This is a player-coach role requiring credibility in architecture conversations with customer engineering leads and equal comfort in sales conversations with executive sponsors. You will lead the most complex engagements yourself when stakes are high. Most of your impact will come through the people you hire and the standards you hold them to. You will not write production code but will pressure-test technical decisions your Technical Deployment Leads (TDLs) make with Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs). Key responsibilities include: hiring, developing, and retaining a team of TDLs embedded in Financial Services engagements; managing TDLs directly with regular 1:1s, clear expectations, and growth plans; owning portfolio health by tracking engagement status and intervening early when delivery drifts; holding executive relationships with customer sponsors and running steering committees; making staffing calls for each engagement in coordination with FDE managers; leading the most complex engagements yourself; setting the bar for delivery excellence including SOW quality, MVP scoping, and value measurement; codifying reusable solution patterns and technical playbooks; partnering with Sales on engagement qualification and scope; running the team's operating rhythm including engagement reviews and knowledge-sharing; surfacing delivery lessons and emerging use cases to Product and Research; and upholding Anthropic's values as you lead your team. Travel to customer sites is expected 25–50% of the time. You will work within Anthropic's hybrid policy, expected to be in office at least 25% of the time, though some roles may require more. REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years leading enterprise AI/ML delivery (as founder, engineer, data scientist, or researcher who moved into deployments), with at least 3 years directly managing people who owned delivery outcomes - Track record building and leading technical delivery teams in enterprise environments, ideally including embedded or forward-deployed teams at client sites - Demonstrated delivery of AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions into production; understanding of solution patterns, integration approaches, and real-world failure modes - Depth in Financial Services: delivered technology programs inside banks, insurers, or asset managers; understanding of model risk, security, and compliance review; credibility speaking with CIOs, chief risk officers, and heads of engineering - Ability to navigate architecture discussions with engineering stakeholders, evaluate technical trade-offs, and judge whether proposed agent designs are realistic - Experience with value-based scoping, including TCO/ROI quantification and post-deployment impact measurement - Comfort thriving in ambiguity and bringing structure where none exists; experience building a team, practice, or function from early stage - Executive presence: polished, credible, and concise with senior leaders in high-stakes settings; equally effective in hands-on engagement reviews - Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical complexity into clear narratives for diverse audiences - Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a field relevant to the role
