Carta is a connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital, serving 55,000 companies and 1.8M+ equity holders across 160+ countries. The Loan Operations team manages the full lifecycle of private credit and direct lending transactions on Carta's platform.
As a Loan Operations Associate, you will support end-to-end loan onboarding, closings, and operational setup for private credit and direct lending transactions. Your responsibilities include processing complex loan lifecycle events—fundings, repayments, prepayments, rollovers, and amendments—with accuracy and timeliness. You'll perform cash, position, and transaction reconciliations to maintain data integrity across borrower, lender, and settlement records, and generate recurring and ad hoc operational reports while responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
You'll partner with Product and Engineering teams to identify process inefficiencies and support platform enhancements that improve scalability and client experience. The role requires 2+ years of experience in loan operations, private credit operations, fund administration, or commercial lending. You should have strong knowledge of the loan lifecycle, including syndicated loans, direct lending structures, revolvers, and lifecycle events such as closings, fundings, amendments, and payoffs.
Key qualifications include operational rigor with strong attention to detail, technology-forward mindset with comfort using modern and AI-powered productivity tools, strong communication skills for working with borrowers, lenders, clients, and internal stakeholders, and analytical capabilities for performing interest, fee, payoff, and other loan-related calculations.
