Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the EHS function at its Atlanta, GA manufacturing, test, and R&D site. This is a senior individual-contributor role—not a people-management position—where you will own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive EHS programs across a fast-growing facility.
You will serve as the site's primary EHS subject-matter expert and the main interface with site leadership, employees, customers, auditors, and regulators. Your responsibilities span occupational safety, chemical management, incident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, stormwater management, air emissions, and regulated waste. You will lead through expertise, influence, and mentorship rather than direct reports, building a culture where safe behavior is the default and EHS partners with production rather than acting as a roadblock.
Key responsibilities include: developing and scaling the site's EHS management system; serving as the senior EHS expert and liaison with leadership and regulators; leading incident and near-miss investigations with root cause analysis; establishing and running routine EHS inspections; owning the site's EHS risk profile through assessments and job hazard analyses; managing hazardous waste characterization, handling, and storage; ensuring compliance with safety programs (fall protection, respiratory protection, LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, emergency response, chemical management); maintaining regulatory documentation (OSHA logs, environmental permits, waste manifests); leading internal audits and tracking findings; providing technical leadership and mentorship to EHS staff and site personnel; and partnering with Operations, Facilities, and other departments to embed EHS into site operations.
Required qualifications: 7+ years implementing and overseeing EHS programs, including serving as the senior EHS professional for a site or program; deep knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 General Industry; working knowledge of 40 CFR Parts 260–279 Hazardous Waste Management and EPA/state environmental regulations; hands-on command of inspections, incident investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, risk assessments, hazardous waste characterization, and compliance recordkeeping; demonstrated ability to own programs and provide technical direction through influence; strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines in a fast-moving environment; comfort operating independently on a manufacturing floor; and U.S. Person status (required for access to export-controlled sites).
Preferred qualifications include manufacturing experience (ideally full-rate production), experience scaling EHS systems through rapid site growth, and a high-energy approach to the role.
