Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is seeking an experienced Litigation and E-Discovery Counsel to join its in-house legal team. The company operates the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform that helps organizations in agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing harness IoT data to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
In this role, you will serve as a key contributor on high-stakes litigation, compliance, and privacy matters. Your responsibilities include coordinating end-to-end commercial litigation support—managing discovery requests, drafting legal briefs, interviewing and preparing witnesses, and negotiating settlements. You will advocate for customer data privacy by providing counsel on subpoenas and legal requests for customer data, managing litigation in civil and criminal courts as needed.
You will proactively mitigate risk and resolve disputes while advising cross-functional business teams on litigation strategy. A significant focus is upleveling Samsara's e-discovery program through automation and AI, establishing defensible discovery guidelines and workflows, evaluating emerging communication platforms to manage data risk, and controlling external spend.
The role requires driving process innovation by identifying systematic legal risks and procedural gaps, designing scalable strategies, and leveraging technology to improve workflows. You will collaborate with and manage outside counsel, adapt your approach to different dispute types and business priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This is a remote position open to US-based candidates, with restrictions on certain high-cost metros (California, New York, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Boulder, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Alaska).
