Yousician is a music-learning platform with millions of users worldwide. This role is the operational backbone of the licensing function, managing the day-to-day administration of music rights, royalty reporting, and licensing economics that directly impact the business. You will own several interconnected workstreams: **Rights Administration & Tracking**: Build and maintain a single source of truth for all licensing agreements, including key terms, renewal dates, exclusions, and amendments. This enables fast decision-making about catalogue priorities. **Licensing Economics**: Model how licensing costs affect business margins and revenue. Work with the content team to understand which licensed content drives user engagement and conversion. Forecast costs for upcoming deals and renewals. **Automation & AI**: Identify manual processes in reconciliation, reporting, and follow-up that can be automated or improved using AI tools, scripts, or no-code solutions. You will bring hands-on AI fluency to the team. **Deal Analysis**: Partner with Finance to benchmark proposed licensing terms against existing deals, and recommend commercial terms for negotiations and renewals. **Royalty Reporting**: Manage the day-to-day relationship with the royalty reporting partner. Reconcile reports, verify royalty and invoice calculations, and resolve delays in claims and payouts. **Rights Clearance & Monitoring**: Set up automated monitoring of license status and resolve clearance or takedown issues quickly. **Renewal Management**: Own the renewal calendar, move routine renewals forward, and prepare analyses for strategic decisions by leadership. **Cross-functional Collaboration**: Work closely with Licensing, Finance, Operations, Product, Content, Data, and Engineering teams on catalogue priorities and reporting pipelines. This is not a data-entry or back-office role. You will use judgment on commercial terms, stakeholder priorities, and strategic direction. You set your own priorities, look beyond immediate fixes to long-term improvements, and bring recommendations to leadership on where licensing should evolve. **Requirements:** - 2+ years in an analytical role such as FP&A, business operations, revenue operations, data analytics, or royalty operations, ideally at a digital product company - Demonstrated ability to build financial or operational models that leaders use for decision-making - Strong data skills: advanced spreadsheets and SQL, plus experience with a BI tool (e.g., Metabase, Looker), ideally a planning tool such as Pigment - Proven track record automating manual work using AI, scripts, or no-code tools - Comfortable with financial reconciliation, including accruals, invoice checks, and understanding how revenue and costs flow through the P&L - Experience turning messy data from multiple sources into clean, trusted datasets - Ability to run several workstreams with Finance and other teams simultaneously without slipping **Strong Signals (preferred):** - Experience working with music publishers, PROs/CMOs, collection societies, record labels, or other rightsholders in a licensing or royalty capacity - Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve operational workflows such as reconciliation, contract analysis, data processing, or reporting - Understanding of the music rights and royalty ecosystem, including PROs/CMOs, publishers, labels, and how different licensing and royalty processes work
