As a Legal Engineer based in Sydney, you will bridge customers, sales, and product teams to drive Harvey's growth in the APAC region. You'll work directly with lawyers at current and prospective customers to uncover workflow pain points, recommend tailored solutions, and demonstrate how Harvey delivers clear value for legal work. You'll serve as the voice of the customer, translating legal workflow insights and feedback into concrete product direction that shapes Harvey's roadmap.
Key responsibilities include: conducting sharp discovery and tailored product demonstrations with law firms and in-house teams; partnering closely with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure the platform evolves in ways lawyers trust and adopt; building and refining product demonstrations and use cases that reflect how legal teams actually work and how AI is changing that work; introducing new capabilities in a credible and compelling way for each customer; providing competitive and market intelligence specific to the APAC legal tech landscape; and strengthening Harvey's reputation as a credible, substantive AI partner to the legal industry.
You must be based in Sydney with valid Australian work rights (no visa sponsorship available). You'll need an Australian practising certificate or equivalent common-law qualification, plus at least 3 years of experience as a qualified lawyer at a top-tier law firm (Band 1 Chambers / AFR Top 10) and/or in-house roles with strong exposure to complex legal workflows. You should demonstrate sound judgment, ability to operate seamlessly across legal, product, and sales contexts, executive presence, and strong relationship-building skills. Sales, customer-facing, or law firm business development experience is a plus.
