As a Legal Engineer based in Dubai, you will sit between lawyers using Legora and the product team building it. This is a client-facing craft role focused on helping law firms and in-house legal teams across the Middle East adopt and optimize the platform. You will run pilots and rollouts, design workflows tailored to specific teams, lead onboarding and training, and teach lawyers to use the platform effectively. When issues arise, you diagnose root causes and either resolve them with the client or escalate to Product with evidence.
The Middle East is its own market, spanning international firms, leading regional firms, and in-house teams at large corporates and sovereign-linked entities. The legal landscape includes federal law, emirate-level systems, and common-law free zones (DIFC, ADGM). Arabic-language support and data protection/hosting considerations are core to the role, not edge cases. Dubai is an early-stage team, so you will help shape how Legal Engineering operates in the region rather than follow an established playbook.
Key responsibilities include: mastering the product and staying ahead of updates; translating real legal workflows into Legora use cases; running demos, workshops, and training grounded in client work; owning pilots and rollouts end-to-end; building trust with decision-makers from day-to-day contacts to partners and general counsels; capturing product gaps with evidence; creating reusable templates, guides, and playbooks; collaborating with Go-to-Market and Engagement teams; and developing credible perspectives on how AI is changing legal practice.
You may come from a law firm (where you did substantive legal work at a quality-focused firm, understood matter economics and partner adoption dynamics, and perhaps led knowledge/innovation initiatives) or an in-house team (where you balanced competing priorities, worked in legal operations or legal technology, and understand adoption depends on business context as much as legal itself). Either way, you are driven to build better solutions rather than document problems.
The role spans a range of seniority levels. What changes with experience is the scope you own, the seniority of stakeholders you engage, and how much others rely on your judgment. Titles run from Legal Engineering Associate through Legal Engineer, Senior Legal Engineer, and Lead Legal Engineer; title and level are determined at offer stage based on your experience and interview performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Legal qualification and real experience of substantive legal work at a law firm or in-house legal function. Jurisdiction of qualification matters less than credibility with senior legal stakeholders in the Middle East region.
- Genuine curiosity about generative AI and product. You do not need to be a software engineer, but must enjoy technical conversations and learn new tools quickly and properly.
- Ability to explain technical ideas to lawyers and legal realities to technical people, in writing and in person.
- Strong self-management: planning, naming owners and dependencies, meeting deadlines, flagging problems early.
- Comfort with early-stage environments where playbooks are still being written and priorities shift.
- Focus on client outcomes over demo perfection.
- Fluent English communication. Arabic is strongly preferred and materially useful in this market.
- Based in Dubai and able to work from the office five days per week, with some regional travel.
