This Legal Engineer role is a hybrid position spanning legal operations, product specialist, solutions architect, and client success functions. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to general counsel, chief compliance officers, and fund formation partners at asset managers and law firms, helping them maximize Legora's platform across private equity, private credit, hedge funds, real estate, and infrastructure strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and owning client relationships with sophisticated asset managers and law firm funds practices, from pilot programs through firm-wide adoption across legal, compliance, and investment operations functions.
- Acting as the voice of asset management users internally, translating client insights into product development priorities and strategic roadmap decisions.
- Delivering product demos and training to diverse stakeholders (GCs, funds partners, compliance teams, deal teams) and documenting best practices into scalable playbooks.
- Helping clients navigate AI adoption in legal and compliance workflows, from fund formation and side letter negotiation to regulatory compliance and investor reporting.
- Understanding regulated financial institution requirements including confidentiality, information barriers, vendor due diligence, and SEC oversight.
- Partnering on transaction workflows (M&A, growth, venture) to build diligence grids, closing checklists, and document review processes.
You bring 3+ years of experience in private funds or M&A/ECVC practice at a leading law firm, in-house at an asset manager, or in regulatory/compliance at an investment firm. You hold a JD or equivalent and understand fund lifecycles, GP/LP dynamics, subscription documents, DDQs, and the regulatory landscape (Advisers Act, Marketing Rule, Form ADV, Form PF, SEC exam readiness). You're tech-curious and product-savvy, comfortable with generative AI and technical conversations. You communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders and thrive in dynamic, ownership-oriented environments.
