As Associate Legal Counsel (5-6 years PQE), you will advise UK teams across the business on multiple legal areas in a consultative, collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include supporting the Partner team in negotiating strategic deals, advising Go-To-Market teams on high-value transactions, reviewing and negotiating customer/partnership/supplier contracts with pragmatic commercial judgment, supervising junior lawyers on negotiations and files, and instructing external counsel.
You will also work on strategic projects including new product launches and template rollouts, build self-help tools and playbooks for the legal team and wider business, drive process improvements in high-volume contracting workflows, and manage ad-hoc legal issues across the organization.
Ideal candidates have private practice training and/or in-house experience in fast-paced environments, with demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts with sophisticated counterparties, review marketing materials for regulatory compliance, and grasp new legal concepts quickly. Strong communication skills are essential—the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, understandable language. Experience with FCA requirements, payment services, IP management, SaaS solutions, or APIs is a bonus. You are proactive, self-directed, comfortable challenging existing processes, and thrive in collaborative, fast-growing tech environments.
