Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced AI and autonomy, seeks an experienced Employment Counsel to join its growing Legal Department. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel for Employment, you will serve as a strategic partner to the People Team and cross-functional stakeholders, providing expert legal guidance on employment matters across the organization.
Key responsibilities include advising on recruiting, hiring, termination, employee relations, wage and hour compliance, workplace accommodations, benefits, compensation, and immigration issues. You will partner with the People Team on day-to-day matters including misconduct investigations, performance management, and conflict-of-interest issues. You'll support complex cross-functional projects to enhance employment law compliance, including workplace audits and classification reviews.
You will draft, review, and maintain global employment policies and standard operating procedures, prepare and revise employment agreements (offer letters, contractor agreements, vendor agreements) for domestic and international use, and maintain self-service tools and training materials for internal stakeholders. Additional duties include facilitating collection and preparation of state and federally-mandated employment reports (EEO-1, California Pay Data, OFCCP), reviewing HR platforms for compliance and employee experience enhancements, assisting in investigations and responding to agency inquiries, and providing tactical support to outside counsel on employment-related claims and litigation.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of employment law experience at a leading law firm and/or large multi-national company; deep knowledge of state and federal employment laws; significant experience advising on HR issues; ability to own multiple projects end-to-end; strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent writing ability for internal documents; strong problem-solving skills; U.S. Person status (required for access to export-controlled information); licensed to practice law in CA, OH, or DC; willing and able to meet daily in-office requirement and travel 15% of time to other Anduril offices domestically and internationally.
Preferred qualifications include combination of law firm and in-house experience, prior experience supporting international workforces and global mobility, and experience with workplace safety regulations.
