Clio is a global leader in legal AI technology and cloud-based legal practice management software, trusted by tens of thousands of law firms worldwide. The company is scaling its EMEA legal function following significant expansion, including the acquisition of vLex, a leading global legal research platform.
This Legal Counsel role reports to the Senior Legal Counsel, EMEA and offers genuine breadth across commercial, operational, and compliance matters across the EMEA region. You will be a trusted legal partner to Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Procurement, Security, and Operations teams, providing commercially grounded advice that shapes real business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor contracts, data processing agreements, professional services agreements, SOWs); independently managing routine and mid-complexity contract negotiations; supporting enterprise deal execution and RFP responses; advising on customer contractual queries and escalated issues; reviewing and negotiating data processing agreements and GDPR-related matters; supporting privacy and data protection compliance initiatives; and contributing to the development of scalable legal processes, templates, playbooks, and knowledge management resources.
You will exercise sound judgment about when to resolve issues independently versus escalate, and you will be comfortable making progress where facts, stakeholders, or precedent are not immediately clear. The working model is hybrid with 2 days in office in Dublin.
