Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for major companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. The company operates 20 offices across six continents with London as headquarters. We are seeking a Commercial Counsel (3-7 PQE) to join our London HQ and own the commercial contract pipeline. This is a hands-on legal role focused on drafting, negotiating, and closing a diverse range of agreements that support our rapid global expansion. Key responsibilities include: - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including customized customer contracts, strategic partnerships, and supplier agreements - Resolve legal issues and contract interpretation matters during negotiations - Produce and maintain standard agreements (NDAs, supplier/customer templates, etc.) - Advise on special projects including new product developments, considering legal and regulatory implications - Provide counsel on commercial legal issues and risk assessment - Conduct research on multijurisdictional legal matters - Support strategic initiatives with creative, proactive, results-oriented legal advice You are a qualified solicitor/lawyer with 3-7 years post-qualification experience in-house or in private practice. Experience in fintech, payments, software, e-commerce, or banking is desirable. You have worked internationally on cross-border matters, manage competing priorities effectively, and communicate complex legal concepts clearly. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and are eager to develop expertise across multiple practice areas.
