Salary: USD 175,000 - 200,000 / annual
Extend is a fast-growing SaaS platform revolutionizing the post-purchase experience for retailers through AI-driven solutions. The company provides automated customer service, returns/exchange management, fulfillment automation, and fraud detection, serving over 1,000 merchant partners across fashion, cosmetics, furniture, jewelry, electronics, and other industries. As Legal Counsel, you will be a key contributor to the legal team, handling a broad range of legal matters critical to the company's growth. You will independently lead contract drafting and negotiations for commercial agreements, advise cross-functionally across revenue, marketing, HR, finance, engineering, and product teams, and support senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include providing legal support for corporate and commercial transactions, building and scaling the legal function, supporting public company readiness efforts, assisting with board and committee meeting preparation, and overseeing global corporate administration including compliance with international, federal, and state laws, entity maintenance, and executive compensation and stock administration.
You will work on novel and complex legal issues spanning regulatory, intellectual property, employment, and international matters. This role offers broad exposure across the organization and the opportunity to refine legal processes while collaborating on cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Required qualifications include a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to and good standing with a state bar, and 3-5 years of experience at a top law firm with preference for some in-house experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, passionate about problem-solving, able to multitask and prioritize, and excited about working on new and unfamiliar projects.
