Tako is an AI platform for people operations, built to solve Brazil's bureaucratic challenges in HR and payroll management. The company combines deterministic applications (payroll, real-time calculations) with AI agents that handle complex labor law compliance. Tako has processed over R$1 billion in payroll, maintains NPS +80, and achieved 70% faster payroll closing. Founded in late 2022 by Fernando Gadotti (DogHero) and Sebastián Mejia (Rappi), the company has raised over R$175 million from Ribbit Capital, a16z, and ONEVC, with offices in São Paulo and San Francisco. You will be Tako's first legal hire focused on contracts and privacy, with high autonomy and a commercial bias. This is a foundational role where you'll own the full contract lifecycle—drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners without relying on external law firms day-to-day. Simultaneously, you'll structure Tako's privacy and data protection program (LGPD compliance) for a platform processing sensitive HR and payroll data, including through AI agents. Key responsibilities include: owning the commercial contract cycle from draft to signature; structuring the LGPD privacy program, including data mapping, DPA management, and risk assessments (RIPD/DPIA); providing direct legal support to Sales and Customer Success to remove friction from deal closure; evaluating privacy risks in product features and AI agents before launch; managing supplier contracts and compliance for critical integrations (eSocial, banks, benefits providers); building replicable contract templates, standard clauses, and internal privacy policies as the company scales; and serving as the point of contact for regulatory compliance questions from customers, prospects, and internal teams. You'll work closely with Product and Engineering to review features with privacy implications, particularly around AI agent handling of sensitive HR and payroll data. The role requires building AI agents to support your own workflow and productivity while ensuring legal processes accelerate rather than slow commercial momentum. REQUIREMENTS: - Law degree with active OAB (Brazilian bar) registration - Solid experience in commercial technology contracts (SaaS, licensing, partnerships) and privacy/LGPD, end-to-end - Fluency working with AI daily and building agents for work optimization and productivity - Autonomy to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers without external law firm dependency - Ability to translate legal risk into business language for founders, sales, and product teams - Rigor and attention to detail in contract drafting with prioritization to maintain commercial velocity - Comfort operating in high ambiguity and rapid growth without pre-existing robust legal infrastructure - Direct, organized communication with a track record of sustaining position in negotiations when necessary DIFFERENTIALS: - HRTech, FinTech, or experience at companies processing sensitive data at scale - Regulatory integration experience - Startup experience at seed, Series A, or B stage without prior legal infrastructure - Data protection certification or specialization (DPO, CIPP/E, or similar) - Advanced English
