Salary: CAD 120,000 - 145,000 / annual
Join Lightspeed's Finance team as a Strategic Financial Analyst, reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance & Insights and collaborating directly with the VP Finance and CFO. This role sits at the intersection of strategic finance, data analysis, and business intelligence across Lightspeed's diverse portfolio including software, payments, capital, and hardware businesses.
You will tackle complex, cross-functional business questions requiring curiosity, sound judgment, and comfort navigating ambiguity. Key responsibilities include: analyzing how different business units generate revenue and identifying growth drivers; building financial models and analysis from scratch to support strategic decisions; accessing and validating data using SQL and BI tools; improving forecasting methodologies across the business for both in-year and long-range planning; owning monthly and quarterly finance reviews and reporting; and presenting clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous problems. You should have solid financial modeling experience (driver-based models, three-statement analysis), hands-on data work with SQL or equivalent querying tools, and familiarity with BI platforms. Business curiosity is essential—you dig into numbers until you understand root drivers. You challenge assumptions while building trusted relationships with business partners, and communicate complex analysis clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences. Experience in complex businesses with multiple revenue streams is preferred.
