Juniper Square is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to lead technical infrastructure and operational excellence for the platform serving 2,300+ GPs in private markets. You will own the technical direction and architecture of team-owned systems, designing distributed systems that balance reliability, scalability, and cost. Your responsibilities include establishing SLOs and SLAs, leading incident response for complex multi-service issues, and implementing preventative measures to safeguard customer experience.
You will act as DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for medium-to-large SRE projects spanning months with cross-team collaboration, partnering with Engineering Managers and Product Managers to scope roadmap initiatives and commit to delivery plans. You'll establish standards for logging, monitoring, and operationalization across all team-owned systems, conduct architectural reviews, and advance design patterns across the organization.
Required experience includes 7-10 years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in production cloud environments; 5+ years with AWS cloud services (compute, networking, storage, security); 5+ years managing Linux production environments at scale; 5+ years with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation) and GitOps; 3+ years operating Kubernetes; 3+ years with AWS Well-Architected Framework; 3+ years in cloud security (IAM, secrets management, network security, compliance); and 3+ years with PostgreSQL in production (performance tuning, replication, backup, recovery).
You should have strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar; deep knowledge of observability tooling (metrics, logging, distributed tracing); solid understanding of data retention, backup, and recovery; experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation; and familiarity with service mesh, API gateway patterns, and microservices architectures. AI fluency is required, including experience with AI-assisted workflows in SDLC, hands-on integration of LLMs into production environments, and familiarity with agent-based or workflow automation systems.
