Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own a critical area of their product portfolio serving public safety professionals. This is a senior individual contributor role for a designer who can set direction, bring clarity to complex problems, and lead cross-functional teams from discovery through delivery.
You will be the design leader for your product area, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to define both how Mark43 solves problems and which problems matter most. Your influence will extend across Mark43's broader portfolio, including Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Analytics and Insights, and mobile applications. You'll also help shape how the Product Design team operates, raising the bar for craft, discovery, systems thinking, and design leadership.
Key responsibilities include: setting design direction for critical product areas and identifying important customer problems; leading complex initiatives from discovery through delivery with research, synthesis, and cross-functional partnership; making difficult product tradeoffs while advocating for strong customer experience; working directly with first responders to understand high-stakes workflows; designing across multiple environments (dispatch workstations, in-vehicle laptops, tablets, mobile); raising design quality through critique and design system contributions; presenting product vision to customers and senior leaders; exploring how AI and emerging technologies can improve public safety workflows; and executing detailed work to ship exceptional products.
