Vasco is building a revenue context layer for AI agents, structuring CRM, billing, calls, and support data into a semantic layer where metrics are sourced, definitions are locked, and answers are deterministic. The company was founded by experienced entrepreneurs who previously built and sold a startup together. You will be Vasco's UX researcher, reporting to the CTO and working embedded within product squads. Your role is to bring customer reality into product direction, framing, testing, and shipping decisions. You'll participate in product shaping sessions with designers and engineers, conducting customer interviews and bringing evidence to inform each decision. Within twelve months, squads will make decisions with customer evidence in hand, and your collaborative approach becomes the model repeated across the team. This is not an entry-level position. You'll set up your own customer access, run research independently without a panel or ops team, and own the quality of findings that shape product bets. High autonomy and accountability are expected at every level, with scope growing with experience. You'll work in an early-stage startup environment where the path is often unclear, requiring you to bring clarity through collaboration, juggle multiple topics simultaneously, stay open-minded, and wear multiple hats. You're expected to be a strong collaborator who pulls people into your thinking and does your best work alongside designers and engineers. The team is AI-forward, and you'll actively contribute to how the organization works with AI. Key responsibilities include: setting up and running interviews with Vasco buyers and daily users, turning insights into squad inputs within the same cycle; joining product shaping sessions to test direction against customer needs and bring evidence; delivering decision-ready findings in days or weeks across multiple topics; putting prototypes in front of customers before building; checking releases against customer feedback before shipping and reading adoption patterns afterward; and building a scalable research model with product designers that can be repeated as the team grows. The position is hybrid in Montreal, requiring three days in-person per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) at WeWork Place Ville-Marie in downtown Montreal. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of relevant UX research experience in B2B software - Demonstrated ability to influence product decisions through customer evidence (must be able to name a specific decision a team changed based on your research, including directions founders or senior leaders held) - Active use of AI tools in your own work with concrete examples of what you've built or analyzed with them - Experience shaping work side by side with designers and engineers, pulling people into your thinking, and managing multiple topics simultaneously in small, fast-moving teams - Ability to deliver short, decision-ready findings in days or weeks and judgment about when quick answers are sufficient - Experience setting up your own customer access and recruiting your own research participants DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE: - Background with AI, agent, data, or revenue products - Research on products where buyer and daily user are different people - Prototype testing with customers and ability to articulate what teams changed based on findings - Post-launch follow-through pairing usage data with customer conversations to explain adoption patterns
