You will own strategy and execution for Verkada's edge connectivity products: the Gateway product line (cellular and Wi-Fi) and the Security Trailers hardware/software platform. Your mission is to extend Verkada's AI threat detection and operational insights to remote and edge environments where traditional internet and power infrastructure don't exist.
Key responsibilities include: (1) Growing the gateway portfolio with advanced reliability, fleet-scale cloud management, and new form factors for edge connectivity and power; (2) Delivering the trailer platform's core promise of continuous off-grid uptime with zero site infrastructure by optimizing solar, battery, and cellular systems; (3) Expanding the trailer into new form factors and use cases; (4) Partnering across product lines (remote cameras, transportation, intercoms, access) to build connectivity-as-a-service and drive ecosystem attach; (5) Defining data plan and pricing strategy for affordable, fast connectivity.
You'll spend significant time in the field with installers, integrators, and customers deploying in unwired environments, translating those insights into product decisions. The role requires deep technical understanding of networking fundamentals (LTE/5G, Wi-Fi, WAN failover, SIM/carrier management), power systems (solar, batteries, PoE), and foundational knowledge of firmware and hardware design. You'll build platform and recurring-revenue business models, handling pricing economics, carrier relationships, attach-rate modeling, and ROI analysis. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic vision and execution excellence.
