Tide is a fintech platform serving over 2 million SMEs globally with business banking, invoicing, and accounting solutions. The company operates across the UK, India, Germany, and France with technology centers in Serbia, Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria. As Lead Product Manager for Banking Payments, you will own the strategy and execution of core payment services across Tide's global footprint. This is a highly technical, strategic role focused on building and scaling the payment infrastructure that enables SMEs to send, receive, clear, and reconcile money globally. Key responsibilities include: • Develop and execute the end-to-end product vision for banking payments, covering local and international rails, multi-currency accounts, and local IBANs aligned with global business objectives. • Lead cross-functional, agile teams through the entire product development lifecycle, including transaction lifecycle mapping, technical specifications, database design, event-driven architecture, and API design. • Own discovery and solution design for money-movement controls, clearing, settlement, financial ledgers, and safeguarding/reconciliation mechanics. • Engage with the broader banking and fintech ecosystem—including Central Banks, clearing houses, BaaS partners, and Open Banking infrastructure (VRP)—to identify next-generation payment opportunities. • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure all payment features adhere to FCA/PRA, EMI, and local central bank regulatory guidelines, proactively mitigating fraud and transaction risks. • Optimize revenue drivers across the payment flywheel (interchange, FX markups, premium features, data enrichment) while working with Finance on quarterly forecasting. • Define and track product KPIs and OKRs (activation, transaction velocity, liquidity, exception rates, processing costs) to drive continuous optimization. Required qualifications: • 8+ years of Product Management experience focused on core banking systems, payment rails, clearing/settlement infrastructure, or electronic money institutions (EMIs). • Deep technical understanding of global and local payment mechanics: SEPA, Faster Payments, UPI, SWIFT, and Open Banking/PSD2 frameworks. • Technical fluency: comfortable discussing API design, transaction logging, race conditions, and edge cases in high-throughput core systems with both engineering and compliance stakeholders. • Strong ledger and financial accounting knowledge, with ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. • Proven track record shipping payment products at scale in regulated financial services environments.
